BUKI KEIKO (weaponized training)

ShoshinRyu is the unencumbered study of Martial Arts. As such, our practitioners are not only interested in the “art” of Martial training but in the HEART of Martial training. This term has always had more Phoenix meaning to me personally because it not only encompasses the ability to show ones Martial “art” in a beautiful or artistic manor but to also have the capacity to USE it in a situation that might be cheap nfl jerseys otherwise unsavory to the average civilian.

Let’s be honest. What are you training to do when you nail the technique of that flying reverse tornado kick? If you do Sydney it correctly, it’s beautiful and it’s probably got enough force to not only remove an invading soldier from his horse, but wholesale nba jerseys also destroy his clavicle, his cheekbone, and/or other unfortunate body parts it’s come into contact with. This is another reason that we do not compete or “point spar” as a part of our training. … I will save the reasoning behind this for a future post…

All in all, the term “Martialist” helps me remember what I am training and keeps my mind wrapped around the possibilities of it’s effectiveness in Austere conditions.

This is where weapons come in. The term “Buki Mixcraft Keiko” is Japanese for “Weapons/Utensil” training. What’s more is that in ShoshinRyu you are compelled to not only know how to swing a club or slash wholesale nba jerseys with a bladed weapon but to put your spirit behind it. To “move with center” with your entire intention through the weapon as an extension of your body.

We train mainly with Knife and Stick here at ShoshinRyu of NC. This is not to specifically exclude any of the other weapon systems that our system offers training in, but more that they are the types of weapons that cheap nba jerseys a normal American civilian will most likely encounter in a weaponized self defense situation. They are most commonly carried and found in different situations journey day to day. So these are the weapons that I’ve chosen for our schools main focus at this time.

* I think it should also be noted that firearms are of course a very useful tool if trained and employed correctly. I am NOT an expert in firearms other than how to dissarm and “attack the attack” of a would be assailant. Owning a gun is personal choice and if you carry, I would offer that you find professionals that can help you operate a firearm correctly.
